Snow & spruce branches, landscape installation (2021-22)

Spruce branches were placed on the snow following the harvest of a large spruce tree for firewood. The footsteps acknowledge the transfer and consumption of energy from the tree to me as the harvester. In the spring, the marsh revealed a previously fallen tree in roughly the same place that I had placed my footprints.
